4. Background checks on customers for silicon products
Our silicon products and services (chip designs, processor IP and related hardware) can be subject to export-control and sanctions rules, including the EU Dual-Use Regulation (EU) 2021/821, EU and UN sanctions, and Swedish rules on strategic products supervised by the Inspectorate of Strategic Products (ISP). Before we make an offer or deliver, we therefore check the customer. The check covers:
- the organisation's identity, registration, country and ownership, including its beneficial owners;
- the names and roles of the people who represent it;
- the stated end use and end user, and the countries the product will reach;
- screening of the organisation, its owners and representatives against EU, UN and other applicable sanctions and restricted-party lists;
- export licences and authority correspondence where these are needed.
We use public registers, official sanctions lists and the information the customer gives us. We do not collect criminal-record data, except where the law expressly allows it. A list match is always reviewed by a person; no decision is taken by automated means alone. We may decline an order on the basis of the check. Records are kept for at least five years after the transaction, as export-control rules require, and may be shown to the competent authorities on request.
5. Who processes data for us
- Our hosting and network provider (Cloudflare): website delivery, security, statistics storage and email forwarding.
- Our email provider: receiving and answering your messages.
- Our invoicing partner and payment provider: invoices and payments, for customers only.
- Authorities: only where the law requires it, for example in export-control matters.
Some of these providers are based in, or use subcontractors in, the United States. Such transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. Your rights
You may ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, a copy in a portable format, and you may object to processing based on legitimate interest. You can withdraw consent at any time through ; this does not affect processing before the withdrawal. Write to info@silicontiq.com; we answer within one month. You may also complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten, imy.se).
7. Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections only, access is limited to the people who need it, and we keep data no longer than stated above. Our products run on the customer's own servers: the data processed there stays with the customer and never reaches us.
8. Children
This site and our services are meant for organisations and are not directed at children.
9. Changes
When this policy changes, the version date above changes and, where your consent is affected, we ask for your choice again.
